المستخلص: يهدف البحث إلى استجلاء القضايا النقدية التي ناقشها كتاب عيار الشعر لابن طباطبا العلوي، وقد لخص الغاية من تأليف الكتاب، ثم عرج على أهم قضايا الكتاب النقدية، ومن أهمها: تعريف الشعر، وثقافة الشاعر مع توضيح الأدوات التي لا غنى للشاعر عنها، وصناعة الشعر أو خطوات بناء القصيدة ومراحل هذا البناء، وقضية العلاقة بين اللفظ والمعنى مع تفصيل القول في شروط المعنى الجيد وضروب الصدق وضروب التشبيه وشروط جودة الألفاظ، وقضية وحدة البناء الفني في القصيدة، وموقفه من شعر المولدين، ورأيه في قضية السرقات، ومراعاة المقام، ووظيفة الشعر، وتوضيحه لعيار الشعر أو علة حسن الشعر، وتطرقه لفن الشعر القصصي. وقد ختم البحث بموازنة مختصرة بين مزايا الكتاب وهناته، مع التوصية بالمزيد من الدراسات النقدية الفاحصة لقضايا الكتاب ونظرات ابن طباطبا التعليمية المتفردة.

This research aims to elucidate the criticism issues expounded in "Caliber of Poetry," a seminal work authored by Ibn Tabataba Al-Alawi. The study provides an overview of the book's purpose, contextualizing the author's motivations. The research focuses on key aspects of criticism addressed within the text, including the definition of poetry and its interplay with the poet's background, encompassing an examination of indispensable poetic tools. Additionally, the investigation delves into the poetry industry, comprehensively discussing its evolutionary stages and requisite procedural steps. Moreover, the research scrutinizes the intricate relationship between expression and meaning, meticulously detailing the conditions for achieving nuanced and compelling meanings, drawing on the usage of apt veracity, similes, and lexicons of superior quality. The analysis also encompasses the vital role of cohesive artistic structures within poems. Furthermore, the author's astute appraisal of contemporary poetry and the pervasive issue of plagiarism is examined. Additionally, the study explores the function and metrics of poetry's quality, appraising the suitability of chosen words vis-à-vis their intended purpose. Lastly, the research advocates for further critical inquiry into Ibn Tabataba's distinctive educational theory and its associated intricacies.
