المستخلص: تعد الصناعات الصغيرة ذات أهمية كبيرة في تحقيق الاستقرار الاقتصادي والاجتماعي من خلال دورها في توفير فرص العمل واستيعاب الطاقات البشرية والقضاء على ظاهرة البطالة، فضلا عن دورها في توفير رأس المال القومي ورفع مستوى الإدخال وعليه زيادة الاستثمارات في مختلف الأنشطة الاقتصادية والمساهمة في تحريك رأس المال داخل حدود الدولة نفسها، تتمثل أهمية البحث في تسليط الضوء على دور الصناعات الصغيرة في محافظة النجف مقارنة مع بقية المحافظات وبيان المكانة التي تمثلها تلك الصناعات في جذب اليد العاملة والعمل على تذليل الصعوبات التي تقف أمام زيادة عددها وتنوعها ورفع طاقتها الإنتاجية والاستيعابية، إذ تميزت منطقة الدراسة بكونها تمتلك إمكانات جغرافية طبيعية وبشرية واقتصادية كبيرة تمكنها من الاستثمار بمختلف أحجام الصناعة لا سيما الصناعات الصغيرة الحجم، لذا توصلت نتائج البحث إلى تصدر محافظة النجف المركز الثالث بالنسبة لعدد المنشآت الصناعية الصغيرة وفي عدد العاملين بالنسبة لمحافظات العراق الأخرى وهذا يدل على الإمكانات الجغرافية التي تتمتع بها المحافظة، كما تقدمت محافظة النجف بالمركز الثاني في قيمة الإنتاج وهذا يدل على التخطيط الصحيح لتحقيق الأهداف الرئيسية من الاستثمار في هذا النوع من الصناعة، كما نجد التذبذب الواضح في زيادة المنشآت الصناعية الصغيرة من حيث عدد منشآتها والعاملين فيها خلال مدة الدراسة والتي لا تتناسب مع الزيادة الفعلية للسكان وللموارد التي تتمتع بها المحافظة.

Small industries are of great importance in achieving economic and social stability through their role in providing job opportunities, absorbing human energies, and eliminating the phenomenon of unemployment, in addition to their role in providing national capital and raising the level of income, and therefore increasing investments in various economic activities and contributing to moving capital within The borders of the state itself, the importance of the research is represented in highlighting the role of small industries in the province of Najaf compared to the rest of the provinces and showing the status that these industries represent in attracting the labor force and working to overcome the difficulties that stand in the way of increasing their number and diversity and raising their production and absorptive capacity. The study area was characterized by the fact that it possesses large natural, human and economic geographical potentials that enable it to invest in various sizes of industry, especially small-scale industries. The geographical capabilities of the governorate, Therefore, the results of the research concluded that the Najaf governorate ranked third in terms of the number of small industrial establishments and in the number of workers in relation to the other governorates of Iraq, and this indicates the geographical capabilities that the governorate enjoys. Investing in this type of industry, as we find the clear fluctuation in the increase of small industrial establishments in terms of the number of their establishments and their workers during the study period, which is not commensurate with the actual increase in the population and the resources that the governorate enjoys.
