يعتبر الحقل الأدبي من المجالات التداولية لمفهوم الجندر أو النوع الاجتماعي Gender سواء من حيث اعتباره أداة للتحليل وخلفية نظرية للقراءة والنقد، أو من حيث الاستناد إليه في الأعمال الأدبية لبناء رؤى عن العالم، ترتبط بموضوع العلاقة بين المذكر والمؤنث، وإنتاج معرفة بطبيعة صراعات السلطة والهيمنة بين طرفي هذه الثنائية التي لا تستند فحسب إلى قسمة اجتماعية تراتبية، تضع بإزاء كل جنس أو نوع قيما متفاضله، وصفات متعارضة: إيجابية أو سلبية، تبجيلية أو تحقيرية، بحجة أنها معطى طبيعي ثابت وجبري يستند إلى الفروق البيولوجية بين الجنسين، ومن ثمة تبرير التمييز والهيمنة والانحياز، وإنما تستند هذه القسمة كذلك وبقوة إلى نظام ثنائي رمزي كوني مبنين. ومولد لمختلف الصور النمطية عن كل ما هو مؤنث أو مذكر في الطبيعة والثقافة واللغة.
The literary field is considered one of the fields of discussion of the concept of gender, whether in terms of considering it a tool for analysis and a theoretical background for literary reading and criticism, or in terms of relying on it in literary creative works to build visions about the world related to the topic of the relationship between the masculine and the feminine. Producing knowledge of the nature of power and hegemony struggles between the two sides of this bilateral relationship, which is not based solely on a hierarchical social division that places different values and conflicting qualities for each sex or species: positive or negative, reverential or pejorative, under the pretext that it is a natural, fixed and coercive given based on biological differences. Between the sexes, there is a justification for discrimination, domination, and bias. However, this division is also strongly based on a binary cultural, intellectual, and symbolic system that is built upon and generates various stereotypes about everything that is feminine or masculine in nature, culture, and language.
