المستخلص: The present study was carried out to investigate the effect of globe artichoke on high fat and fructose (HF/HFr) diet on the onset of the characteristics of the the levels of growing male. Also the possible protective effects of artichoke (AK) against (HF/HFr) diet induced-metabolic disturbances. Thirty sex male albino rats were randomly assigned into 4 groups and were fed for 6 weeks the following diets group 1 basal diet, negative control (C) group 2 basal diet containing 20 g AK/kg diet (C+AK), group 3 high fat diet (15% beef tallow + 5% corn oil) combined with fructose (13% W/V) in drinking water (HF/HFr), group 4 HF/HFr diet containing 20 g AK/kg diet (HF/HFr+AK). HF/HFr diet induced elevated levels of blood glucose, serum TG, TC, LDL-C, liver, renal function and (NO) with a decrease in (HDL-C) and total antioxidant capacity compared to control. These effects were more pronounced in HF/HFr diet fed on. Globe artichoke reinstated most of the altered measured parameters. So, HF/HFr diet developed characteristics of metabolic syndrome in growing male rats. Artichoke were protected against some metabolic disturbances of HF/HFr diet. The inclusion of artichoke consumption has a beneficial effect in control and management of diabetes and diabetes associated complications with no risk of hypoglycemic effect.

The current study aimed to monitor the most prominent contemporary issues for women, how they are addressed within Ramadan television drama, and the extent of society members’ satisfaction with them. The researcher used the survey method, both analytical and field. The analytical study was conducted through content analysis on one of the most important Ramadan series for the year 2023. It is a series: "Hadrat Al Omda"; As it focused on women's issues in particular, as for the field study, it was applied through a questionnaire on 123 individuals, and the current study reached several results, the most important of which are: From an analytical standpoint: The series - the subject of the study - dealt with a large number of women's issues, including: Women's empowerment, underage marriage, divorce, female genital mutilation, electronic blackmail of girls, and obsession with technology and other contemporary issues. The study also revealed the development of the positive image of women within television drama, as the traditional image of women changed within Ramadan 2023 series. She does not appear in her traditional form as a housewife and her role in agricultural production activity, in addition to her obtaining - at the end of the series - all her legal and moral rights. The series focused on women who belong to the middle class - average status - in rural society. As for the results of the field study, we find that most of the women - members of the sample - follow very carefully watching the Ramadan television drama, but the method of presenting and treating the issue did not appear sufficiently. From the point of view of the respondents - most of the treatments and solutions presented were superficial and unrealistic. However, most of the respondents prefer to continue producing and showing those series that are concerned with women’s issues. Because the series succeeded in simulating social reality to a large extent.
