إن القدرات الابتكارية هي جوهر التقدم العلمي والتكنولوجي، وتنمية هذه القدرات من أهم العوامل التي تحفز جودة التصميم، وقد تتمثل القدرات الابتكارية في إدراك ما يتاح للمصمم من أدوات وخامات وأساليب فنية وخبرات سابقة، بالإضافة إلى تمكنه من الاطلاع على كم مختلف من الفنون المتنوعة من واقع البيئة وما تحويه من موروثات متعددة، بهدف إعادة تشكيلها لتحقيق وحدة تكاملية وجمالية مبتكرة، تترسخ في تكوينات وأساليب متميزة (اليماني، ۲۰۰۹م). وكثيراً ما يستخدم المصمم الإيحاء في تكوين العمل، ومصادر الإيحاء لا تعد ولا تحصى فالطبيعة البحرية من رموز الإيحاء التي لفتت أنظار الفنانين والمصممين لما امتازت به من غموض وعمق وما تحتوي عليه من مخلوقات وكائنات متنوعة تعتبر مصدراً غنياً من مصادر التصميم (مكرش، ۲۰۱۰م). لذلك يتجه البحث إلى الاستفادة من إحدى الكائنات البحرية (سمك البيتا)؛ لإثراء مجال تصميم الأزياء والوصول إلى علاقات تشكيلية وحلول ابتكارية متعددة بصورة معاصرة.

Innovative abilities may be to recognize the designer's tools, materials, techniques and past experiences. The environment and the protection of multiple legacies, with the aim of restructuring it to achieve an integrative and aesthetic unity of innovative, rooted in distinct configurations and methods (Yamani, 2009). Often the designer uses inspiration in the composition of the work, and sources of inspiration countless, marine nature of the symbols of inspiration that drew the attention of artists and designers because of the excellence of the ambiguity and depth and the various creatures and objects are a rich source of design sources (Makrish, 2010). Research is therefore seeking to benefit from a marine organism (Betta); to enrich the field of fashion design and to bring about creative relationships and innovative solutions in a contemporary fashion. Search goal to: 1- Disclosure of the plastic and aesthetic relations of the Betta fish to enrich the field of fashion design. 2 - To create fashion designs rich in color and tactile colors of the fish with a contemporary vision. The most important results were: 1. The identification of beta fish and its aesthetic systems, whether linear, color or formality, led to the development of the ability to imagination and innovation and the possibility of formation functionally and aesthetically in the field of fashion design. 2. The designs contained new formulations and unusual synthetic variations, taking advantage of the various plastic and decorative possibilities of the Betta fish. 3. Work on the emergence of each design in a different personality and character characterized by innovation, as a result of the different shape and color of the fish and the difference in the techniques used and methods of employment. 4. The study confirmed the achievement of self-technical and educational design systems in the field of fashion design using the computer program (Alfotoshob). The recommendations were as follows: 1 - Interest in the study of marine nature and its components and taste as an aesthetic science helps to develop creativity in order to develop the field of fashion design, and other technical fields. 2 - Utilization of marine elements in the production of fashion accessories that bear the characteristics of the marine nature and emphasize the lines and colors and contact. 3 - Preparation of training courses, raising the level of skill of different groups of society, using software programs, which helps to innovate and creativity and serve the community.
