المستخلص: This study is aiming to know the sources of renewable energy in order to benefit from them in local economy for real sustainable development goals in Libya because energy is the main pillar of economic development in the country, and its production and consumption are among the main indicators to describe the size of the Libyan economy. Furthermore, quantitative and descriptive approach was used with collecting the necessary data from various sources. The study showed the importance of a number of environmentally friendly renewable or clean energy sources in Libya, which are much needed sources for the domestic energy usage such as sun power, biomass, wind power and hydroelectric energy aiming to make more savings on oil and gas sources. Furthermore, both authors recommend on protecting the local environmental resources. In addition, it’s important to declare that more studies in this topic.
