|a تعد عقوبة العمل للنفع العام من أهم العقوبات البديلة التي أقرها المشرع الجزائري على غرار أغلب التشريعات المقارنة في ظل توجهات السياسة الجنائية الحديثة من أجل تحقيق الغاية من توقيع العقوبة في مفهومها الحديث، وهذا بالعمل على تأهيل وإصلاح المحبوسين وإعادة إدماجهم في المجتمع من جديد، من خلال تجنيبهم عقوبة الحبس وسلبياتها ومساعدتهم على إظهار الجانب الإيجابي لهم عن طريق تقديمهم لخدمة اجتماعية مجانية للمجتمع.
