Our research deals with an African figure who played a major role in the political process of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He was Patrice Lumumba, who resisted Belgian colonialism and founded the national movement in 1958 as the Congolese Patriotic Movement. He played an important role in the 1960 Brussels Round Table Conference. The Belgian decolonization of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the proclamation of the independence of the DRC, the first elected Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo after its independence in 1960 from Belgian colonialism, ensured that Lumumba's government enjoyed independence only a few days The President of the Republic, Kazavobo, called for the dismissal of Lumumba. Mobutu, the chief of staff of the Congolese army, who took part in a military coup against the Government of Lumumba in 1961 and transferred him to a prison in the separatist province of Katanga and was executed by Supporters of Tushmbe and with the support of the Belgian government. |
