المستخلص: Domestic public debt is one of the tools on which the State relies to guide fiscal policy and correct imbalances affecting economic balance and growth. This study seeks to measure the impact of domestic public debt on Algeria's economic growth during the period 1990-2022, using the autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) through the UECM unrestricted error correction model. This study found a long-term inverse relationship between the two, as increased State recourse to domestic public debt leads to lower economic growth. This is confirmed by the value of the corrected determination factor, which showed that 46.65% of changes in economic growth were caused by changes in domestic public debt, but in the short term the impact of domestic public debt on economic growth did not appear.
