المستخلص: Algeria is one of the most important carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) emitters among developing countries, which has led to the deterioration of its environmental quality constantly, which necessitates the reduction of carbon emissions. for this reason, our study aims to show the macroeconomic determinants of CO2 over the period 1970-2019. In order to complete our research, Descriptive and analytical approaches are used to form the background by reviewing literature and analyzing existing information about CO2, and also the quantitative approach will be employed to determine its macroeconomic determinants. The study found that the most significant carbon dioxide emissions determinants are economic growth, financial sector development, domestic investment and trade openness. The study also found a positive impact of these determinants on the carbon dioxide emissions, with the exception of financial sector development and trade openness.
