|a يسعى هذا البحث إلى مساءلة الأثر الثقافي لاختراع الطباعة على الفكر الغربي من خلال التركيز على كيفية تحرير المعرفة من احتكار الكنيسة وجعلها متداولة بين عامة الناس بعد أن سمحت بمنجزاتها تداول الكتب الفكرية والعلمية، وعلى رأسها الكتاب المقدس، مما شجع على شُيُوعِ الفكر النقدي، كما يُحلل تحول الوعي الغربي من الفهم الذاتي للآخر المتوارث عن الأحكام اللاهوتية المسبقة والمشوهة في غالبيتها، إلى تبني فهم موضوعي قائم على المناهج العلمية، وهو ما دفع إلى التفكير في تأسيس العلوم الإنسانية والاجتماعية، بغية مقاربة التراث الديني المكتشف لدى الآخر الغريب والبعيد من خلال زوايا نظر مغايرة، ومن بينها علم الأديان. كما يبحث في تأثير اختراع الطباعة على تطوّر الفلسفي وانبثاق حركة التنوير. وتخلص الدراسة إلى أن اختراع الطباعة قد أدى إلى تكسير مفهوم المركزية الغربية على إثر الصدمة الثقافية الحاصلة بعد اللقاء مع العوالم الأخرى، بعد تبني مفهوم الكوني المشترك، كما اغتنت المبادئ الرئيسية لحركة التنوير بالأفكار المستفادة من الشروحات العربية للمتون اليونانية.
|b This study scrutinizes the cultural repercussions of the printing press on Western thought, emphasizing how the dissemination of the printing technology undermined the Church's monopoly over knowledge. This process democratized access to scholarly and scientific texts, notably the Bible, fostering an environment conducive to the proliferation of critical thinking. The analysis extends to the paradigmatic shift in Western consciousness from a subjective, theologically skewed understanding of the 'Other' to an objective perspective informed by scientific methodologies. This paradigm shift was instrumental in contemplating the foundations of the humanities and social sciences, particularly in interpreting the religious legacies of disparate cultures through novel interpretive frameworks, as seen in the science of religions. Further, the study explores the influence of the printing press on philosophical evolution and the genesis of the Enlightenment. It posits that the printing press was instrumental in dismantling western centrism, catalyzing a cultural shock through encounters with diverse worldviews, which led to the embrace of a more inclusive, universalist approach. Importantly, the enlightenment's core principles were significantly enriched by the Arab exegetical traditions on Greek texts.
