|a يهدف البحث الحالي إلى معرفة المنهج التفسيري الذي اعتمده وأقام عليه الشهرستاني عند تفسيره للقرآن الكريم وفق المعايير والطرق النقلية والعقلية. وقد توصل البحث الحالي لأهم النتائج الآتية: إذ اعتمد الشهرستاني في مناهج التفسير البحث المقارن في أصول التفسير ومناهجه. كما أسس الشهرستاني دراسة لمناهج التفسير المختلفة لدى مختلف المذاهب الإسلامية ومن ثم انتخاب أفضلها كمنهج أمثل أو مثالي ليكون الرائد في التفسير لدى بقية المذاهب الإسلامية. وتعرف الشهرستاني على المناهج التفسيرية التي تثير روح الخلاف بين المسلمين واستطاع نقدها وتحليلها، وكذلك التعرف على المناهج التفسيرية المؤكدة لروح الوحدة والبحث عن جذورها، وأصولها، والإفادة منها. كما اكتشف الشهرستاني المناهج التفسيرية التي كانت تنطلق في المنهج التفسيري أو في المصدر التفسيري عبر خدمة السلطة التي كانت معاصرة لها سواءً كانت سلطة سياسية، أو سلطة فكرية أو ثقافية، أو عقائدية، وما إلى ذلك.
