يعدّ عبد القادر بن عمر البغدادي من أبرز أعلام اللغة في القرن الحادي عشر للهجرة، إذ عُرف في مجال التأليف والفهرسة، وظل كتابه "خزانة الأدب ولب لباب لسان العرب" محل عناية الباحثين منذ تأليفه إلى وقتنا الحاضر. وتهدف الدراسة إلى استجلاء صورة واضحة لمنهج البغدادي في اعتراضاته على النحاة في كتاب خزانة الأدب، وفق المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، ونهج البغدادي منهج البغداديين في الإفادة من نتاج البصريين والكوفيين، مع عدم الانحياز إلى أي منهما، وامتاز البغدادي في تحقيق المسائل النحوية باستقلال الرأي وحرية الفكر، فمع ميله إلى آراء الرضي النحوية وتمجيده له بعبارات تقديرية إلا أنه ينفرد بآراء خاصة في كثير من المسائل، ومنهجه في ذلك قائم على عرض آراء سابقيه مفندا أو منتقدا أو مرجحا. لم يكن البغدادي متابعاً أو مختاراً لآراء النحاة وأقوالهم فحسب، بل أهلته ثقافته الواسعة أن يقف من الآراء النحوية موقف المتفحص المتثبت؛ لإعطاء بعض آرائه نوعاً من الجدية والتفرد ويكون له رأي يأخذ طريقه بين الآراء، ومن المعروف أن النحوي الذي يسلك مثل هذا الطريق لابد أن يمتلك عدة تمكنه من الاجتهاد وكان البغدادي يمتلكها.

Al-Baghdadi was not only a follower or selector of the opinions and sayings of grammarians, but his extensive culture enabled him to take the position of a verified examiner regarding grammatical opinions.
