تكمن أهمية البحث في إظهار التأثيرات التي خلفها الاستعمار الفرنسي والإنجليزي في دولة الكاميرون من صراع سياسي وثقافي، إضافة إلى تضارب مصالح الدول الأوروبية في الكاميرون. وهدفت الدراسة إلى معرفة أشد الآثار الاستعمارية ضغطا على الدول الإفريقية وإبراز التباين والتناقض بين الثقافة الفرنسية والإنجليزية في دولة الكاميرون، إضافة إلى الوقوف على مدى التشابه والتنافر في أهداف الاستعمار الفرنسي والإنجليزي. وطرح البحث العديد من الأسئلة وحاول الإجابة عليها وهي: -ما مدى أثر الاستعمارين على دولة الكاميرون؟ -أين تكمن مواقف الاختلاف بين الاستعمار الفرنسي والإنجليزي في الكاميرون؟ واتبع البحث المنهج الوصفي لوصف الإحداث الاستعمارية في إفريقيا والكاميرون وكذلك المنهج التاريخي والتحليلي لدراسة الموضوع. وخلص البحث بأهم النتائج التالية: 1-اتضح للباحث الاختلاف بين أساليب الاستعمار الفرنسي وأساليب الاستعمار البريطاني في إفريقيا، حيث أن فرنسا تقوم بالقضاء على الزعامات القبلية بخلاف الاستعمار البريطاني الذي يبقي الزعامات القبيلة ويحقق أهدافه من ورائها. 2-أن الاستعمار الفرنسي لم يحاول تقديم ادني مساهمة لتطوير البلاد بل لهدمها فقط.
The study aimed to know the most severe effects of colonialism on African countries and to highlight the contrast and contradiction between French and English culture in the country of Cameroon, in addition to identifying the extent of similarity and dissonance in the objectives of French and English colonialism. The research posed many questions and tried to answer them, namely: What is the impact of colonialism on the State of Cameroon? Where are the positions of difference between the French and English colonialism in Cameroon? The research followed the descriptive approach to describe the colonial events in Africa and Cameroon, as well as the historical and analytical method for studying the topic. The research plan dealt with three topics, which are as follows: The first topic dealt with a historical overview of the state of Cameroon, and the second topic was titled the colonial competition between France and Britain in Africa, in which there are two demands. Cameroon has three demands, the first one: the impact of political colonialism, the second one: the impact of economic colonialism, the third demand: the cultural and scientific impact of colonialism, and finally the conclusion, which contains the results and recommendations.
