المستخلص: هدفت الدراسة إلى الوقوف على العوامل المجتمعية لتنامي ظاهرة العنوسة في المجتمع المصري، وقد استخدم الباحثان منهج المسح الاجتماعي بالعينة، حيث قام بتطبيق الدراسة الميدانية على عينة من الشباب، وبلغ عدد مفرداتها ۳۸۳ من الشباب بمدينة أسيوط، وتم تطبيق مقياس من تصميم الباحثان بعد إخضاعه للتحكيم، وأظهرت النتائج في مجملها أن هناك العديد من العوامل الاجتماعية، والثقافية والاقتصادية التي لها دور في تنامي ظاهرة العنوسة في المجتمع المصري. كما توصلت الدراسة إلى أن هناك تزايد في معدل العنوسة بين الشباب وذلك بسبب تهرب كثير من الشباب من المسؤولية العائلية والخوف من تحمل مسئولة إقامة أسرة والاهتمام بهذه الأسرة، كما أدى ضعف الوازع الديني لدي بعض الشباب من انتشار ظاهرة العنوسة في المجتمع حيث لا يهتم الكثير من الشباب بالالتزام بالزواج الرسمي، وكان الشيوع بعض العلاقات غير الشرعية لدى الشباب دور في انتشار العنوسة بين الشباب، كما بينت الدراسة أن سيطرة الخوف من الفشل في الزواج زاد من عدم رغبة الشباب في الزواج، ولعل السبب الرئيس في انتشار ظاهرة العنوسة كما حددته عينة الدراسة هو بحث الرجال عن النساء العاملات ومن لهم مستوى تعليمي مرتفع هو ما أدى إلى انتشار ظاهرة العنوسة في المجتمع. كما أوضحت نتائج الدراسة أن ارتفاع تكاليف الزواج من أهم أسباب العنوسة، بالإضافة إلى كثرة مطالب الحياة الأسرية وغلاء المهور وعدم توفر القدرة المالية للزواج في مقدمة الأسباب الاقتصادية التي تسهم في انتشار ظاهرة العنوسة في المجتمع.

The study aimed to identify the societal factors for the growing phenomenon of spinsterhood in Egyptian society. The researchers used the sample social survey approach, where they applied the field study to a sample of young people, and the number of its subjects reached 383 young people in the city of Assiut, and a scale designed by the researchers was applied after subjecting it to arbitration. Overall, the results showed that there are many social, cultural and economic factors that play a role in the growing phenomenon of spinsterhood in Egyptian society. The study also found that there is an increase in the rate of spinsterhood among young people due to the evasion of many young people from family responsibility and the fear of bearing the responsibility of starting a family and caring for this family. The weakness of the religious faith among some young people has also led to the spread of the phenomenon of spinsterhood in society, where many of them do not care. Young people are committed to formal marriage, and the prevalence of some illegal relationships among young people played a role in the spread of spinsterhood among young people. The study also showed that the dominance of the fear of failure in marriage increased the youth’s unwillingness to marry. Perhaps the main reason for the spread of the phenomenon of spinsterhood, as determined by the study sample, is Men's search for working women and those with a high level of education is what led to the spread of the phenomenon of spinsterhood in society. The results of the study also showed that the high costs of marriage are among the most important causes of spinsterhood, in addition to the high demands of family life, the high prices of dowries, and the lack of financial capacity for marriage at the forefront of the economic reasons that contribute to the spread of the phenomenon of spinsterhood in society.
