|a وتعتبر الأسرة مؤسسة تؤكد الاستمرار الحضاري للمجتمع عن طريق إنجاب الأطفال وتربيتهم وجعلهم ينتمون إلى الجيل الحاضر وتعليمهم السلوكيات الاجتماعية ذات التأثيرات الإيجابية التي تناسب قيم المجتمع المتحضر ونقل التراث والثقافة من جيل إلى آخر. فالأسرة تؤدي هذه الوظيفة نظرا لارتباطها بمعايير المجتمع الذي تشكل الأسرة جزءا منه. والأسرة مسئولة عن ثقافة أبنائها، ونقل الموروثات الثقافية إليهم من عادات وقيم وتقاليد وأعراف سائدة في المجتمع من خلال عمليات التربية والتنشئة الاجتماعية، فالوظيفة التثقيفية أشمل من الوظيفة التعليمية لأنها تلعب دورا أساسيا في تشكيل وتكوين الشخصية الإنسانية للفرد.

The family performs this function due to its connection with the norms of the society of which the family is a part. The family is responsible for the culture of its children, and for transmitting cultural legacies to them from the customs, values, traditions and norms prevailing in society through the processes of education and socialization. The educational function is more comprehensive than the educational function because it plays a fundamental role in Formation and formation of the human personality of the individual.
