|a يتضمن البحث الحالي توضيح جماليات المشغولات المعدنية المضيئة ومنها جماليات المشغولة الحائطية المضيئة وألقى البحث الضوء على تصنيفات وحدات الإضاءة المعدنية وجماليات الضوء في أعمال الفنانين المعاصرين، مع توضيح مبسط لتأثير الضوء على المشغولة المعدنية بأساليب الإضاءة المختلفة، وتحليل وتوصيف نماذج من المشغولات المعدنية المضيئة. مرت الإضاءة بالعديد من المراحل حيث برزت الحاجة إليها منذ عصور ما قبل التاريخ لسد نقص الإضاءة الطبيعية بالإضاءة الصناعية، تعد الإضاءة من أهم العناصر المؤثرة في مجالات مختلفة ومنها مجال أشغال المعادن والذي أدى إلى تنوع أشكالها ومصادرها المختلفة مما جعل منها قطع فنية تبرز القيم الجمالية وتخلق تأثيرات بصرية على المشغولة المعدنية، وتؤكد على القيم الوظيفية. سواء كان تصميم المشغولة المعدنية تقليدياً ومعاصر جدا فإن الإضاءة تضفي لمسه سحرية على الفراغ ولا نبالغ إذا قلنا أن الإضاءة هي أكثر عنصر مؤثر في التصميم، فهي تثير من ملامح المكان وتضفي له أجواء جديدة من خلال تقنيات الإضاءة المختلفة واللعب بالظل والنور والإضاءة الجمالية تحديداً.
