|a تعد المنازعات البحرية من بين المنازعات المعقدة والشائكة، لذلك تم التفكير خلال المؤتمر الثالث لقانون البحار في ايجاد قضاء دولي متخصص في هذا النوع من المنازعات إلى جانب القضاء الدولي العام الدائم المتمثل في محكمة العدل الدولية، على هذا الأساس تم انشاء المحكمة الدولية لقانون البحار، التي تعد أحد أهم المستجدات التي جاءت بها اتفاقية قانون البحار لسنة 1982، كهيئة قضائية دولية دائمة تختص بالفصل في المنازعات البحرية.
|b Maritime disputes are among the most complex and thorny disputes. Therefore, during the Third United Nations Convention on the Law of, it was thought to implement an international judiciary specialized in this type of disputes, in addition to the permanent public international judiciary represented by the International Court of Justice. On this basis, the International Court for the Law of the Sea was established, which is considered as one of the most important developments brought about by the 1982 Convention on the Law of the Sea, as a Permanent international judicial body specialized in adjudicating maritime territorial disputes.
