|b This book is the first author to study the dramatic changes that transform economies in Asia and transform the balance of economic power in the world, while reflecting on Asia's future prospects for the next 25 years. The book is a large-scale research project initiated by the economist (Deepak Nayyar), to investigate Asian development, celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the publication of the Asian drama, through in-depth studies of twenty-one articles written by economic researchers and sociologists, sponsored by the United Nations University's World Institute for Development Economics Research.
