المستخلص: البحث عن التفسير العلمي للقرآن بإندونيسيا لم يكن كثيرا خاصة باللغة العربية. والحوار عن هذا الموضوع يدور حول: مفهومه ونشأته في العالم الإسلامي، وموقف العلماء منه تأييدا أو ترفيضا، ثم منهجه وضوابطه. يهدف البحث إلى كشف منهج التفسير العلمي بإندونيسيا وتطبيقاته. وكان الكتاب المبحوث الوقت في ضوء القرآن والعلم الذي ألفه مجموعة العلماء من لجنة تصحيح مصحف القرآن ولجنة العلوم الإندونيسية. يعتبر هذا البحث بحثا مكتبيا حيث يجمع مصادره من الكتب والمقالات. ثم يعتمد الباحث في تحليل موضوع البحث على منهج وضوابط التفسير العلمي الذي أورده مرهف عبد الجبار سقا وكذلك مؤلف كتاب الوقت في ضوء القرآن والعلم. يكشف من هذا البحث أن التفسير العلمي يتطور في إندونيسيا على ثلاث مراحل: أولا، عصر التعريف في عام الستينات. وثانيا، عصر التطوير الأول، وهو في عام ١٩٩٠ حتى ۲۰۰۰م. وثالثا، عصر التطوير الثاني، وهو في عام ۲۰۱۰ م حتى الآن، حيث ألف فيه كتب كثيرة بشكل التفسير العلمي الشامل، مثل التفسير العلمي للجنة تصحيح مصحف القرآن. وبالتالي، كان التفسير العلمي: الوقت في ضوء القرآن والعلم ألفه العلماء الكبار بإندونيسيا؛ علماء الشرع وعلماء الكون. فهذا التفسير يعتني على قواعد اللغة وعلوم القرآن وتفسير القدماء في عملية التفسير. وهو يفرق بين التفسير والاكتشافات العلمية. هما شيئان مختلفان، بأن الاكتشافات العلمية ليست هي تفسير النص القرآني، بل هي من باب توسيع المدلول لا يؤثر بطلانها فيما بعد على قداسة النص القرآني.

This research is aimed at looking at scientific interpretation method in Indonesia and its application. The literature that is the object of this research is a book entitled Time in the Perspective of the Qur'an and Science which was written by a group of ulama and scientists from Lajnah Pentashihan Mushaf al-Qur'an and the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI). This research belongs to the type of library research, where the data source is obtained from books and papers. In analyzing research objects, the author uses the formulation of the scientific interpretation method written by Abdul Jabbar Saqa and the author of the book Time in the Perspective of the Qur'an and Science. From the results of this research, it was found that the book Time in the Perspective of the Qur'an and Science was written by popular scholars in Indonesia: tafsir scholars and scientists. From all the descriptions it is understood that this book pays attention to aspects of linguistic rules, al-Qur'an sciences, and the interpretations of previous scholars. This book of tafsir also separates interpretation and scientific findings, both of which are different. Scientific findings are not interpretations of the Qur'an, but are part of the expansion of the Qur'an's instructions where changes to the findings will not affect the sanctity of the Qur'an.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat metode Tafsir Ilmi di Indonesia beserta penerapannya. Literatur yang menjadi objek penelitian ini adalah buku yang berjudul Waktu dalam Perspektif al-Qur’an dan Sains yang ditulis oleh sekelompok ulama dan ilmuan dari Lajnah Pentashihan Mushaf al-Qur’an dan Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia (LIPI). Penelitian ini tergolong dalam jenis library research, di mana sumber datanya diperoleh dari buku-buku dan makalah. Dalam menganalisis objek penelitian, penulis menggunakan rumusan metode Tafsir Ilmi yang ditulis oleh Abdul Jabbar Saqa dan penulis buku Waktu dalam Perspektif al-Qur’an dan Sains. Dari hasil penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa buku Waktu dalam Perspektif al-Qur’an dan Sains ditulis oleh ulama popular di Indonesia: ulama tafsir dan ilmuan sains. Dari seluruh uraian dipahami bahwa buku ini memperhatikan aspek kaidah kebahasaan, Ilmu al-Qur’an, dan penafsiran ulama terdahulu. Tafsir atau buku ini juga memisahkan antara penafsiran dan temuan ilmiah, keduanya berbeda. Temuan sains bukanlah tafsir atas al-Qur’an, tetapi bagian dari perluasan petunjuk al-Qur’an yang mana perubahan temuannya tidak akan mempengaruhi kesucian al-Qur’an.
