المستخلص: At the beginning of the fourteenth century AD, in most European countries and in the countries of Asia and Africa bordering the Mediterranean, international trade was no longer just an adventure as it was in previous centuries, and the sales movement increased and competition between traders intensified, and there was a need to reduce expenses and costs, dispense with brokers and commercial intermediaries, and choose the most effective means of transportation and commercial techniques. In this era, Italy was the center of European trade, and Italian merchants traveled by sea to England and Flanders with their goods, and they increased their commercial activity in the Black Sea. Trade in the rest of Europe such as Italy did not develop, but these countries found themselves forced to participate in the expanding trade movement.
