|b After rejoining the African Union at the African States summit held on January 30-31, 2017 in Addis Ababa, the kingdom is preparing to make another, relatively unexpected entry. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Moroccan authorities have just officially applied to become a full member of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). Indeed, no one can deny the economic presence of Morocco in the West African region. But the Kingdom seeks to strengthen this presence by joining the most important organization in the region, namely ECOWAS. It therefore seemed interesting to us to undertake research on this topic in order to elucidate the role that this membership can play in the economic growth of the country. Thus, the objective of this paper will be to highlight the economic prospects of ECOWAS membership for Morocco.
|d Après avoir réintégré l'Union africaine lors du sommet des États africains qui s'est tenu les 30 et 31 janvier 2017 à Addis-Abeba, le royaume se prépare à faire une autre entrée, relativement inattendue. D'après le ministère des Affaires étrangères et de la coopération, les autorités marocaines viennent de faire officiellement la demande de devenir membre à part entière de la Communauté économique des Etats de l'Afrique de l'ouest (CEDEAO). En effet, personne ne peut nier la présence économique du Maroc dans la région de l'Afrique de l'ouest. Mais le Royaume cherche à renforcer cette présence par l'adhésion à la plus importante organisation de la région, à savoir la CEDEAO. Il nous a donc semblé intéressant d'engager un travail de recherche autour de cette thématique afin d'élucider le rôle que peut jouer cette adhésion dans la croissance économique du pays. Ainsi l'objectif de ce papier consistera à mettre en évidence les perspectives économiques d'adhésion à la CEDEAO pour le Maroc.
