المستخلص: يتناول البحث بالدراسة أحد العناصر الأساسية في فن الراوية وهو المكان، من خلال دراسة وصفية لرمزية المكان في أدب روائي سوري مشهور هو "حنا مينه" عبر تسليط الضوء على رواية له بعنوان (حكاية بحار). وقد قسمت البحث إلى مقدمة وثلاثة مباحث وخاتمة متضمنة لأبرز نتائج البحث. تناول المبحث الأول بعض التعريفات العامة كالتعريف برواية (حكاية بحار) والتعريف بمفهوم المكان في الرواية، فيما تناول المبحث الثاني رمزية المكان في الرواية من خلال الحديث عن الأماكن المغلقة فيها، فيما تناول المبحث الثالث: الحديث عن الأماكن المفتوحة ومدلولها في سياق السرد. وعرضت في الخاتمة أبرز النتائج التي تم الوصول إليها، كما ختمت البحث بذكر المصادر والمراجع التي اعتمدت عليها في الدراسة. البحث في مجمله ليس استقصاء تاماً أو إحصاء كاملاً للأمكنة في رواية حنا مينه (حكاية بحار) وإنما هو جهد بسيط للتعريف برمزية المكان في هذه الرواية وعرض بعض صورها، ومحاولة تصنيفها في مجموعات وقوالب والتعرف على عالم حنا مينه الروائي من خلالها. وكل ذلك بالاستعانة بالمنهج الوصفي التحليلي لرصد وتوصيف أبرز ملامح المكان في رواية حنا مينه.

The research deals with the study of one of the basic elements in the The research studies one of the basic elements in the art of the storyteller, which is place, through a descriptive study of the symbolism of place in the literature of a famous Syrian novelist, Hanna Minna, by highlighting a novel of his entitled (A Sailor’s Story). The research was divided into an introduction, three sections, and a conclusion including the most prominent results of the research. The first section dealt with some definitions, such as introducing the novel (A Sailor’s Tale) and introducing the concept of place in the novel, while the second section dealt with the symbolism of place in the novel by talking about the closed places in it, while the third section dealt with: talking about open places and their meaning in the context of the narrative. In the conclusion, I presented the most prominent results that were achieved, and I concluded the research by mentioning the sources and references that I relied on in the study. The research in its entirety is not a complete survey or a complete enumeration of the places in Hanna Minna’s novel (A Sailor’s Tale), but rather it is a simple effort to define the symbolism of the place in this novel, display some of its images, and attempt to classify it into groups and templates, and learn about Hanna Minna’s fictional world through it. All of this is done using the descriptive and analytical approach to monitor and describe the most prominent features of the place in Hanna Minna’s novel.
