Domestic violence is a major challenge that comprehensively affects women’s role in society, impacting physical and mental health, education, career development, and social and political participation. On a psychological level, domestic violence leaves a profound impact, including anxiety, depression, loss of self-confidence, and others, which prevent women from interacting effectively with society. Physically, it can lead to injuries and chronic illnesses that require ongoing medical care, affecting women’s ability to work and participate effectively in public life. In terms of education and career, violence can deprive women of educational opportunities and career advancement opportunities, as they may be forced to drop out of school or find themselves unable to perform their jobs effectively due to psychological and physical stress. This has limited their opportunities for career advancement and has a negative impact on their financial future. In terms of social and political participation, domestic violence isolates women from society and reduces their ability to participate in public life. This sense of isolation has reinforced her sense of helplessness, hindered her participation in political affairs and decision-making, and marginalized her role in society. Domestic violence also reinforces negative stereotypes that portray women as weak and dependent, which exacerbates gender inequality and reinforces the continuation of these negative patterns in society. When society accepts domestic violence, it becomes difficult to break this oppressive cycle, which exacerbates the problem and transmits it to future generations. Therefore, domestic violence does not only affect women, but also children and society as a whole, creating an adverse environment that affects children’s psychological development and increases rates of social violence and crime. Therefore, addressing domestic violence requires comprehensive efforts, including legislation, victim support, and raising public awareness, to combat this phenomenon and allow women to resume playing an active role in society.

This research focuses on studying the negative effects of domestic violence on women’s role in society, as it shows how exposure to domestic violence restricts their freedom and reduces their opportunities for effective participation in society. The research addresses the psychological and physical aspects that affect women, such as anxiety and depression disorders, loss of self-confidence, and physical injuries that hinder their ability to perform their social and economic roles. The research also discusses how domestic violence contributes to limiting women's ability to gain financial independence, due to the decline in job and educational opportunities, which increases their dependence on the breadwinner. In addition, the research highlights the inherited effects of this violence on future generations, as it weakens their ability to raise psychologically and socially stable children, and leads to the continuation of the cycle of violence and social deprivation. The research also focuses on the importance of finding sustainable solutions to combat domestic violence and enhance the role of women in society, through community awareness and improving legislation that protects women's rights and supports them to integrate into various areas of social and economic life. (Al-Shammari, Fatima. (2021). 135.) Therefore, this research will review the impact of domestic violence on the role of women in society by analyzing how exposure to violence affects women's ability to perform their social and economic roles effectively. The research shows that domestic violence deeply affects women's mental and physical health, leading to a decline in their levels of participation in community and economic activities. The results indicate that women who are subjected to violence face significant challenges in achieving financial independence, and suffer from poor social communication and isolation. The research also reflects the long-term negative effects of violence on children, as they can grow up in psychologically unstable environments, affecting their future and education. The research suggests the need to improve policies and laws that support women, and to enhance psychosocial support programs to effectively address this issue (Al-Assaf, Najla. (2022) p. 120.) The research addresses the impact of domestic violence on women and its negative effects on their social and economic role. Domestic violence hinders women's ability to realize their potential and contributes to marginalizing their role in society, leading to a decline in their participation in development and public activities. Violence also affects their mental and physical health, and limits their ability to engage in the labor market and achieve economic independence - (Al-Jabri, Ahmed. (2020). p. 132.)
