|b This article examines the role of context in shaping linguistic modalities in political discourse, using a semantic-pragmatic approach. It explores how politicians utilize language to influence public opinion and steer audience interpretation, emphasizing that linguistic styles are more than mere tools for conveying meaning. Rather, they direct interpretations and control inferencing. The article categorizes linguistic styles into six major types, including epistemic, deontic, evaluative, and interrogative styles, all of which are shaped by the cultural, historical, and political context in which they occur.
