|a حفرت الأساطير الشعبية في وجدان أهل الصحراء قصصا لا تنسى، ونفخت في عدد من الأمكنة روحا متأججة ما كانت لتنطفئ لولا جذوة تلك الأساطير، وتسللت بشخوصها المخيفة والغريبة وحكاياتها العجيبة كل بيت وخيمة، وصنعت مع الزمن ثقافة وهوية متجذرة توارثتها الأجيال لعقود، ولا أظن مجلسا في القديم إلا وهو وقد حافظ على تلك الأساطير وحاول غرسها من جديد في الذاكرة الشعبية. والسؤال الكبير في هذا البحث؛ هل لا تزال تلك الأساطير حاضرة في ذاكرة ووجدان جيل اليوم من أهل الصحراء؟. حول هذا الموضوع سأتناول مفهوم الأسطورة الشعبية في المجتمع الصحراوي، ووظيفتها، وعلاقتها بالدين، وانعكاساتها الحاضرة والمستقبلية على ثقافتهم المحلية، لذلك سأحاول الجمع بين التنظير الفكري للأسطورة وإسقاطاتها على واقعهم، خصوصا منطقة الخليج الجزيرة العربية.

The big question in this research is: Are these legends still present in the memory and conscience of today's generation of desert people? On this topic, I will address the concept of popular myth in Sahrawi society, its function, its relationship to religion, and its present and future repercussions on their local culture, so I will try to combine the intellectual theorizing of the myth with its Arabian Peninsula.
