"الإرهاب" اسم قد يطالع مواطن الكرة الأرضية في أي صباح، ويشكل خوفاً حقيقياً يعيق حياة الإنسان العادي، وتستثمره حكومات في تحقيق أهداف سياسية لها. وإذا ما اقترن هذا الاسم بالإسلام فأصبح (الإرهاب الإسلامي) تعين على علماء المسلمين ومفكريهم ومثقفيهم أن يقولوا كلمتهم في هذه القضية توضيحاً ومعالجة. ويساهم هذا البحث في معرفة حقيقة مفهوم الإرهاب، وعلاقته بالإسلام، وكيفية التعامل معه. وقد توصل البحث إلى أن الإسلام كدين يبتعد في علاقته مع الآخر عما يوصف بـ(الإرهاب)، وأنه يقيم تلك العلاقة أثناء السلم أو الحرب على أسس نبيلة تصلح أن تكون أساساً لعالم أفضل. وأن سلوك بعض أفراد أو جماعات المسلمين (المشين) مرده إلى مجموعة ظروف اجتماعية واقتصادية. وسياسة مع فهم خاطئ أو شاذ لبعض نصوص مصادر الإسلام، وغذي ذلك كله بعض السياسات الدولية تجاه بعض بلاد المسلمين وقضاياهم ولا سيما فلسطين والعراق. ويوصي البحث بضرورة تحديد مفهوم الإرهاب والتمييز بينه وبين المقاومة، والمطالبة بعدالة دولية، والانفتاح بين الحكومات العربية والإسلامية وشعوبها، وتوضيح الإسلام على حقيقته للنشء، والدعوة إلى تكوين وإشاعة ثقافة عالمية تقوم على التسامح وتقبل الآخر. \
