المستخلص: The Iraqi economy has gone through many crises and shocks over more than thirty years, and the features of war economics and economic sanctions imposed on it by the international community have been reflected in it. Despite possessing many material resources, it was unable to confront those crises and shocks. Today, it has become subject to two economic paradoxes. The first is the emergence of a commercial consumer pattern to cope with the conditions of war and the sanctions imposed on it through many channels of commercial brokers. The second is the emergence of a consumer pattern mixed with the factors of deteriorating production efficiency and the decline of economic development. The structure of Iraqi foreign trade is a mirror through which the deteriorating reality of the structure of commodity production is reflected. Oil exports still occupy more than 96% of total Iraqi exports.
