المستخلص: The Twat region is characterized by a diverse social composition encompassing several Amazigh, Arab, and African tribes. This diversity is largely attributed to its strategic location in the midst of the desert and along the trade caravan routes. Twat has a long history of Amazigh tribal settlement, including tribes like the Sanhaja, Imohagh (Tuareg), and Znata. This is evidenced by the Tifinagh inscriptions found on rocks in various locations across Twat. Additionally, Arab tribes such as the Arab Al Maqil, Ouled Yaghi, Ouled Ahmed, Al Ja'afra, Ouled Dleim, Kentah, Bani Fazarah, and Al Ashraf have also migrated to the Twat region. With this Arab-Amazigh coexistence, Twat has become a space for mutual influence and cultural exchange, clearly reflected in the local community's culture. The society has assimilated elements from both Arab and Amazigh cultures, forming a cultural heritage unique to the region.
