This article falls within the context of diplomatic relations between the Regency of Algiers and Spain, which witnessed a shift from long-standing hostility to official rapprochement. This change ended a political crisis between the two sides through the signing of two treaties of peace and surrender. These agreements led to the definitive liberation of the cities of Oran and Mersa El Kebir, and had significant implications for Algeria's position both locally and internationally. As a result, Algeria's political and geographical unity was consolidated. |
