The study found that Algerian cities are witnessing continuous urban expansion as a result of several reasons, including rural displacement and the natural increase of the population, and the search of people for a better life in the regions negatively affected urban food security, as extraneous phenomena such as chaotic buildings, increased poverty...... etc. Despite occupying Algeria fifth place in the Arab world and improving its ranking globally and in the Middle East and North Africa, it is still not up to the required level.
