|a يعد قانون تأهيل المرأة (Qualification of Women Act) الذي منح النساء حق العضوية في مجلس العموم والمشاركة في مناقشاته، خطوة إيجابية مكملة لقانون سبق وان أقرته الحكومة البريطانية في نفس العام وهو قانون منح النساء حق التصويت بعد سنوات من العمل الجاد والجهود الدؤوبة، والتي أثبتت من خلالها الشريحة النسوية وجودها في مجتمع يسوده الارتهان الذكوري. وقد جاءت تلك القوانين تثمينا للمجهود النسوي، وتقديرا للأدوار الفاعلة التي مارستها نساء البلاد خلال سنوات الحرب العالمية الأولى. وقد حظي القانون بردود فعل إيجابية عند مناقشته في البرلمان كونه نتيجة حتمية وطبيعية بعد منحها حق التصويت. إذ لطالما أصبحت المرأة مؤهلة للتصويت فمن المنطقي أن تكون مؤهلة للجلوس في مجلس العموم.
