المستخلص: ارتأيت في هذا البحث دراسة أسماء النبي محمد (صلوات الله وسلامه عليه وعلى آل بيته وصحبه أجمعين) في ضوء المعجمات العربية القديمة والحديثة، وذلك لبيان معانيها وكشف الأسباب التي تكمن في إطلاق تلك الأسماء عليه (صلى الله عليه وسلم)؛ لذا ذهبنا إلى اعتماد النظام الهجائي أو ما يسمى بالأبواب التي سار عليها المعجميون في تأليف معجماتهم لسهولة الوصول إليها من القارئ، فجاء البحث بقسمين الأول بدأ بباب الهمزة وختم بباب العين، أما الثاني فبدأ بباب الفاء وختم بباب الياء، ومن أهم النتائج التي توصلنا إليها في هدي هذا البحث أن أسماء النبي (صلى الله عليه وسلم) غالبا تأتي على اسم فاعل أو صيغة مبالغة أو صفة مشبهه هذا من حيث المعنى، فضلا عن ذلك بعضها جاءت تسميتها من صفاته الكثيرة (صلى الله عليه وسلم)

This research investigates the names of the Prophet Muhammad ( God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family and all his companions) in the light of ancient and modern Arabic dictionaries, to clarify their meanings and reveal the reasons behind giving those names to him . The alphabetical system or whatever is adopted. It is called the chapters that lexicographers followed in writing their dictionaries for ease of access. This research consists of two parts, the first begins with the chapter on the hamza letter and concluded with the ain letter, while the second begins with the chapter on the fa letter and concluded with the ya letter. One of the most important results is that the names of the Prophet (peace be upon him) often come in the form of an active participle, an exaggerated form, or a similar adjective. This is in terms of Meaning as well as some of them were named from their many characteristics.
