المستخلص: تطوّر مفهوم المتحف منذ ظهوره المتزامن مع الإنسان أفرز عديد الأشكال والأصناف في إطار مواكبته لرهانات المجتمع المتجدد واضطلاعه بدوره ومهامه المتعددة، فيبرز متحف التاريخ الشكل الأكثر انتشارا في الفترة المعاصرة استجابة لحاجة الإنسان المتنامية لحفظ تاريخه وتراثه وثقافته ويبدو أيضا أنه الأكثر غموضا في تعريفه وتحديده ومن ثمة تصنيفه وذلك لتعدد وتداخل الاختصاصات في مجتمع متحول ومتطلب ومنفتح على الآخر وتأكد الحاجة لحماية الذاكرة والهوية.

Evolution of the definition of the museum and its various types; the history museum and the challenges of society in the twenty-first century. The museum is a concept related to human existence that has evolved on constantly throughout history generating several forms and types of museums responding to the new challenges in society Certainly, several definitions and redefinitions of the museum as well as the classifications of the various types and forms, the most remarkable one is that of the museum of history, which has been the subject of several debates, although it is the most widespread form in XXI century society as guardian of history, memory and identity.

Evolution de la définition du musée, et ses divers types ; «musée d’histoire» et les enjeux de la société dans le XXIème siècle. Le musée est un concept lié à l’existence humaine, qui a évoluée constamment à travers son histoire, engendrant plusieurs formes et types muséaux en répondant aux nouveaux enjeux de la société. Certes plusieurs définitions et redéfinitions du musée, ainsi des classifications des divers types et formes, dont la plus remarquable celle du musée d’histoire qui a suscité plusieurs débats. Bien qu’elle soit la forme la plus répandu dans la société du XXIème siècle, comme gardien de l’histoire, du mémoire et de l’identité.
