|a اهتمت الأمم المتحدة بالعراق، وتعاملت مع جميع تطوراته السياسية والأمنية والاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافية، وما يؤكد هذا الاهتمام وجود بعثتين رئيستين هما يونامي ويونيتاد فضلاً عن العديد من الوكالات الفرعية، والكل لديها برامجها المخصصة، ووضعت لها خطط عملت على تنفيذها، كما وضعت الأمم المتحدة مجموعة من الأهداف سعت إلى تنفيذها في العراق، وهذا يعكس بلا شك الأهمية الكبيرة التي حظي بها العراق لدى الأمم المتحدة. منذ عام ۲۰۱٤، لعبت الأمم المتحدة دورًا مهما في العراق، مركزًا على تقديم المساعدات الإنسانية وبناء السلام وتعزيز الاستقرار السياسي. دعمت الأمم المتحدة العراق في التصدي للتحديات مثل قضايا النازحين الداخليين، وإعادة الإعمار، وإصلاحات الحوكمة. كما توجهت الجهود نحو تعزيز الحوار بين مختلف الجماعات العرقية والدينية لتعزيز المصالحة الوطنية والتنمية المستدامة.
