|a لقد أسست الليبرالية منذ نشأتها على الحرية والفردية والعقلانية تحاول النهوض بالفرد وحقوقه ومساعدة على ترسيخ مكانته على حساب المجتمع وعدم الحد من حريته، وعلى الدولة أن تضمن له ما لا يستطيع وحده أن يضمنه لنفسه وهو الأمن والحماية، لكن رغم أن هذه الأسس أعطت الحرية والحقوق للفرد إلا أنها حرمت الأغلبية منها ولم تضمن المساواة بينهم، بالإضافة إلى تحويل هذه المبادئ من سياسة وطنية إلى سياسة دعائية دولية وغطاء للتدخل في شؤون الدول وفرض ثقافتها وقيمها عليها، مما أدى إلى انعدام الحوار بين الشعوب بسبب اختلاف الثقافات، وأجبرت الإنسان على العيش في أنانية واغتراب وغيرها من الأزمات التي تتطلب إصلاحات جذرية تزعمها إدغار موران وآلان دي بينواست الذين قدموا لها رؤية نقدية.
