المستخلص: أولت الصناعة المعجمية أهمية بالغة لعمليات تعريف المداخل في المعاجم العربية، إذ إن التعريف أساس الصناعة المعجمية، وواجهة النص المعجمي؛ وعامل رئيس في نجاح المعجم أو فشله، لذا خصه العلماء بالدراسة والفحص، التي انتهت إلى حصره في ثلاثة صنوف رئيسة: التعريف الاسمي، والتعريف البنيوي، والتعريف المنطقي. وقد كان للمعجم العربي سهم وافر من الأصناف الثلاثة، استخداما وتوظيفا، وإن لم يكن ذلك وفق إطار نظري ضابط، يحكمها ويوجهها. وإن مناط الدراسة هو أولهم، أما الأخيران فنصيبهما سيكون في معرض التوضيح والتفسير. ولن تذهب الدراسة في اتجاه استقصاء ما ورد في المعاجم العربية من هذا النمط التفسيري وتأثيله، من خلال مقابلتها بمواردها أو لغاتها الأصلية التي تُنسب إليها أو مناهج اللغويين في معالجة الألفاظ الأعجمية، سواء أكان من الساميات أم الهندية الأوروبية، بقدر ما يتجه نحو معالجة نقطة الدراسة حصرا، ألا وهي التفسير بالترجمة. كذلك لن تتجه الدراسة نحو بحث السبل والطرائق التي سلكها الرازي بصدد اختصار صحاح الجوهري، ولا الاستدراكات التي استدركها عليه، على الرغم من أهميتها، كونها جعلت المختار أشهر مختصرات الصحاح وأيسرها، وأكثرها دورانا بين المستخدمين. وقد استلزمت طبيعة الدراسة توظيف المنهج الوصفي وأدواته الاستقرائية والإحصائية أحيانا، للبحث في الظاهرة وسبر مظاهرها وآثارها. وتنقسم الدراسة قسمين، أولهما تعريف التفسير بالترجمة وأسبابه ومظاهره، واللغات التي قُدِّم بها. أما القسم الثاني فاستعرض مختار الصِّحاح بوصفه أحد المعاجم التي ورد بها هذا النوع من التفسيرات. وتأتي أهمية الدراسة من كونها تتناول نمطا تفسيريا معتمدا، ووجها معتبرا من وجوه البيان والتوضيح داخل المعاجم العربية، بعدما كثر دورانه، وشاع استخدامه بين صناع المعاجم العربية المعتبرة؛ بوصفه وجها بالغا في التفسير والبيان، حتى بات علامة ووسيلة للتلاقح اللغوي والتهجين الثقافي فيما بين العربية ولغات عصرها.

The lexicographic industry has placed significant emphasis on defining entries in Arabic dictionaries. This is because a definition serves as the foundation of the lexicographic sector, acts as the interface of the lexical text, and significantly influences the success or failure of the dictionary. Scholars have dedicated extensive study and examination to this process, ultimately focusing on three main categories: nominal definition, structural definition, and logical definition. The Arabic dictionary has had a large share of the three categories, in use and employment, even if not according to a controlling theoretical framework that governs and directs them. The study primarily focuses on the first category, with the remaining two contributing to the display of clarity and interpretation. The study will not delve into the etymology and references found in Arabic dictionaries of this interpretive style. It will not compare it with its original languages or linguists' approaches to foreign words, whether Semitic or Indo-European. Instead, it will solely focus on the primary focus of the study: interpretation through translation. The study will not delve into the methods and strategies used by Al-Razi to abbreviate the dictionary of Al-Sihah, nor the additions he made to it, despite their significance. These methods have made Al-Mukhtar the most well-known and easily accessible of Al-Sihah's abbreviations, making it the most widely used by users. This is because the study's focus has been narrowed from the start. The nature of the study necessitated using the descriptive method and its inductive and sometimes statistical tools to research the phenomenon and explore its manifestations and effects. The study is divided into two sections; the first defines interpretation through translation, its causes and manifestations, and the languages used to present it. The second section examines Al-Mukhtar Al-Sihah, one of the dictionaries referencing this interpretation type. The study's significance stems from examining an approved interpretive pattern and a respected aspect of explanation and clarification within Arabic dictionaries. This pattern gained widespread use and adoption among the creators of respected Arabic dictionaries, who sometimes described it as an extreme aspect of interpretation and explanation. Eventually, it became a sign and a means of linguistic cross-fertilization and cultural hybridization between Arabic and the languages of its era.
