|a اتضح العمليات العسكرية التي تقوم بها الفصائل المسلحة الفلسطينية ضد (إسرائيل) انطلاقاً من الأراضي اللبنانية، هي السبب المباشر لاجتياح لبنان في حزيران عام ۱۹۸۲، وكان هدف الغزو طرد منظمة التحرير الفلسطينية من لبنان وإنهاء الوجود العسكري السوري فيه، وإيجاد نظام متعاون مع إسرائيل مستعد لتوقيع معاهدة "سلام" مع تل أبيب، ويمكن القول أنها حققت بعض أهدافها، في مقابل ذلك لم يمر الاجتياح دون مقاومة فقد جوبه بتصدي وشجب واستنكار على مختلف الأصعدة ومن بعض الطوائف اللبنانية، ولاسيما الطائفة الشيعية التي تبين أنها رافضة بشكل قاطع لهذا الغزو من خلال بياناتها واستنكارها فضلا عن حمل السلاح والمقاومة العسكرية.

The invasion aimed to expel the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) from Lebanon, end the Syrian military presence, and establish a regime willing to sign a "peace" treaty with Tel Aviv. While the invasion achieved some of its objectives, it was met with resistance, condemnation, and denunciation on various levels, particularly from the Lebanese Shia community. The Shia community strongly opposed the invasion through statements, denunciations, and armed resistance.
