المستخلص: جاءت حيثيات البحث لتوضح مكانة العراق الاستراتيجية، وتحدد درجة ارتباطه إقليميا، سواء بمحيطه الإقليمي أو الدولي، مستندا في تحديد مشكلة البحث على بيان موقع العراق ضمن إطار نظريات الفكر الجيوبوليتيكي العالمي، ومكانته الاستراتيجية، وأهميته بالمرحلة المعاصرة، لاسيما بعد خروجه المبكر من الأحلاف الدولية، وتغير التوجه الفكري العالمي نحوه بتوقيعه ضمن إطار (نظرية صراع الحضارات) و(استراتيجية قوس الأزمات). لتحقيق ذلك تم اعتماد المنهج الاستقرائي في سبر أغوار البحث بتفصيلاته المشار إليها، بغية تعميم النتائج لما تم التوصل إليه، واعتمد لأجل تحقيق ذلك على فرضية مفادها: أن بالفهم الواعي لصانع القرار الوطني العراقي المحدد لسياسته وعلاقاته الدولية المستند على موقعه الجغرافي ومكانته الدولية الموثقة بما عرض في أساسيات الفكر الجيوبوليتيكي العالمي وتطوراته الحالية وصورته المستقبلية أن يتخذ القرار السليم بجملة الارتباطات السياسية والاقتصادية والعسكرية مع دول العالم. ومن أبرز النتائج التي توصل إليها البحث أن العراق بموقعه الاستراتيجي المهم وميزاته وثرواته الطبيعية الزاخرة وقدراته البشرية المتمكنة، قادر على أن يكون مشاركا فاعلا في أي تشكيلات أو ارتباطات أو أحلاف (سياسية، اقتصادية، وعسكرية عالمية) بما يتناسب مع قدراته المتميزة ومكانته الموثقة ومصالحة الاستراتيجية في أساسيات الفكر الجيوستراتيجي العالمي.

The research came to clarify Iraq's strategic position, and determine the degree of its regional connection, whether with its regional or international surroundings, based on defining the research problem on stating Iraq's position within the framework of global geopolitical thought theories, its strategic position, and its importance in the contemporary stage, especially after its early exit from international alliances, and the change in the global intellectual orientation towards it by signing it within the framework of (the theory of the clash of civilizations) and (the strategy of the arc of crises). To achieve this, the inductive approach was adopted in exploring the depths of the research with its aforementioned details, in order to generalize the results of what was reached, and to achieve this, it was relied on a hypothesis stating: that with the conscious understanding of the Iraqi national decision maker who determines his policy and international relations based on his geographical location and his documented international position as presented in the basics of global geopolitical thought and its current developments and future image, he can make the right decision regarding the set of political, economic and military connections with the countries of the world. One of the most prominent results reached by the research is that Iraq, with its important strategic location, its advantages, its abundant natural resources, and its capable human capabilities, is able to be an effective participant in any formations, connections, or alliances (political, economic, and global military) in a manner that is consistent with its distinguished capabilities, its documented position, and its strategic interests in the fundamentals of global geostrategic thought.
