|b Music is socio-cultural, and rap, like any other musical genre, must be rooted in local social realities and reflect them. As a result, the study of rap songs can only provide us with information about the social, economic and ideological organisation of society at any given time. Young rappers use their microphones to protest and confront the political and social system. Victims of stigmatisation, they are constantly accused of being incapable of expressing themselves properly in an appropriate language. Yet these young rappers, using a very specific language, are busy displaying the identity they bear through their songs. This article looks at some of the ways in which rappers use authentic texts to protest and express their discontent.
|d La musique est socio-culturelle et le rap comme tout autre genre musical doit s’ancrer dans les réalités sociales locales et en rendre compte. De ce fait, l’étude des chansons rap ne peut que nous renseigner sur l’organisation sociale, économique et idéologique de la société à travers tous les temps. Les jeunes rappeurs usent de leurs micros pour protester et affronter le système politique et social. Victimes de stigmatisation, ils sont constamment accusés d’être incapables de s’exprimer correctement dans une langue adéquate. Or, ces jeunes rappeurs ; en usant d’un parler fort particulier, s’affairent à afficher une identité dont ils sont porteurs par le biais de leurs chansons. Dans le présent article, il est question de faire un relevé de quelques-unes des modalités mises en oeuvre dans des textes authentiques de rappeurs pour contester et exprimer leur mécontentement.
