Women have played a crucial role in the development field throughout contemporary history. It has become widely known that significant social changes cannot occur in any society without their active role. In the framework of understanding the close connection between the issue of women's liberation and the liberation of society as a whole, this paper aims to shed light on the efforts that empower women, particularly in the context of local political contribution. It also explores the obstacles that hinder their involvement and the impact of such obstacles on political development. The paper adopts a socio-political approach to highlight the real role of women in political development, utilizing qualitative methodology and interview techniques with a sample of activists. It focuses mainly on one specific case study, while other cases were selected based on snowball sampling. |
