|b This study explores the pivotal role of the argan tree in the Amazigh communities of the Souss region, addressing its significance beyond economic value to its deep cultural and symbolic dimensions. The research raises the key question of how the argan tree embodies Amazigh heritage and fosters intergenerational continuity. Using an analytical methodology that combines written historical sources, particularly medieval ones, and oral traditions, the study examines the tree’s integration into daily practices and its association with values of wisdom, resilience, and environmental protection. The findings highlight that argan oil production, while economically vital, transcends its material function. It reflects a cultural practice steeped in ancestral knowledge and traditions, symbolizing a continuity of heritage and strengthening social ties within the community. By anchoring itself in rituals, social exchanges, and traditional craftsmanship, the argan tree emerges as an essential element of Amazigh cultural identity and a cornerstone of community cohesion.
