|b Literature has always been a mirror of society. In this respect, this article aims at drawing the relationship between the famous Ray Bradbury’s novel Fahrenheit 451 and the American socio-political context of the 1950s. As a dystopian text, the novel is concerned with systematic abuse of power and technology that may be achieved through Social Engineering which is implemented gradually through its sub-applications/theories by the government. By using a qualitative approach and critical analysis of the literature, the investigation focusses on the process of implementing Social Engineering in the American post-WWⅡ society through human soul engineering, censorship and mass psychological manipulation.
