المستخلص: According to Edward Hall's contemporary theory, this study aims to reveal the importance of architectural voids in influencing the personal Space of Algerian family members. It considers architecture as a model of nonverbal communication that reflects peoples' cultures, their standard of living, and the degree of privacy they enjoy. This study adopted the descriptive method for a random sample of 120 Algerian families divided equally between residents of condominium apartments and residents of independent houses. The goal was to identify the interrelationship between the physical factor (building) and the social factor (family) using the tools of field investigation, namely free-form interviews and Hall's spatial satisfaction scale.
