المستخلص: تعتبر الكاتبة والصحفية والرحالة الإسبانية كرسيتينا مراتو أول وأكبر المهتمين بتقصي وجمع وتدوين الرحلات النسائية عبر العالم. فقد نشرت في هذا السياق خمسة كتب تتناول كلها مغامرات الرحالات اللواتي طوى النسيان أسماء أغلبهن ليتنكر التاريخ لإنجازاتهن الاستثنائية، رغم كونهن قد ساهمن في تعبيد الطريق لمجموعة من الرحالة الرجال الذين كتبت أسماؤهم بماء من ذهب. أبت كريسينا مراتو إلا أن تعيد لكل هؤلاء الرحالات ما يستحقنه من تقدير وتكريم عبر البحث والنبش في تفاصيل مذكراتهن الرحلية. إن كتاب رحالات جريئات ومغامرات هو من أهم إصدارات مراتو حول الرحلة النسائية، والذي توقفت فيه عند مسارات رحالات من مختلف الجنسيات بدءا بقديسة الرحلة السيدة إيغيريا في القرن الرابع الميلادي التي حفرت أقدامها اسمها على الحجر، وصولا إلى فالينتينا تيريشكو التي صعدت نجمة نحو القمر. تروم هذه الترجمة المختصرة لكتاب رحالات جريئات ومغامرات تقريب القارئ العربي من قصص هؤلاء النساء اللواتي تحدين الظروف الشخصية والعائلية والمجتمعية والطبيعية...من أجل تحقيق حلم الحرية وكذا استكشاف ذواتهن وغيرهن في عوالم غريبة وخطرة. وقد كانت الدول العربية والإسلامية وبلدان إفريقيا جنوب الصحراء من الجغرافيات الأكثر إثارة لاهتمامهن. وتعترف مراتو في كتابها أن عملية البحث في المكتبات والأرشيفات عن مذكرات هؤلاء النساء الرحالات لم يكن بالعملية السهلة أبدا خاصة أن عددهن يتجاوز أربعين مغامرة بين من سارت مشيا على الأقدام ومن أبحرت في زي الرجال، بين من طافت العالم مرتين أو أكثر وعادت ومن رمت بأسرارها من أعلى السماء وأودعتها في قعر المحيط وغابت، وبين من رابطت لسنوات على حدود البلد الذي توجهت إليه دون أن تتمكن من دخوله ومن توجتها الأقدار على عرش بلد لم تكن تعرف بوجوده. كانت قصصهن جريئة، غريبة بل وأقرب إلى الخيال، لكن أثرهن على أرض الواقع مكن كريستينا مراتو من نفض الغبار عن مساهماتهن الحقيقية في رسم خرائط العالم عندما كان العالم بدون حدود وفي كتابة التاريخ الاجتماعي والسياسي لشعوب بلدانهن والبلدان التي استقبلتهن.

The Spanish writer, journalist, and traveler Cristina Morató is the first and foremost to take an interest in researching, collecting, and documenting women’s travels around the world. She has published five books in this context, all dealing with the adventures of female travelers, most of whom have been forgotten by history despite their exceptional achievements and their contribution to paving the way for a group of male travelers whose names have been written in gold. Cristina Morató insisted on giving back to all these female travelers the recognition and honor they deserve by researching and digging into the details of their travel memoirs. The book «Audacious and Adventurous Travelers «is one of the most interesting publications by Morató on female travel. In it, she explores the journeys of female travelers of various nationalities, starting with the patron saint of travel, Madame Egeria, in the 4th century AD, who engraved her name in stone, up to Valentina Tereshkova, who raised her star to the moon. This abridged translation of the book “Audacious and Adventurous Travelers” aims to bring the Arab reader closer to the stories of these women who defied personal, familial, societal, and natural circumstances… in order to realize the dream of freedom and to explore themselves and others in strange and dangerous worlds. Arab and Islamic countries and Sub-Saharan African countries were among the geographies that interested them the most. Morató admits in her book that the search in libraries and archives for the memoirs of these female travelers was not an easy task, especially since their number exceeds forty adventurers, some walked on foot, others sailed in men’s clothing, some traveled around the world twice or more and returned, others threw their secrets from the sky and deposited them in the belly of the ocean and disappeared, some spent years on the border of the country they were heading to without being able to enter, and others were crowned by fate on the throne of a country they did not know existed. Their stories were audacious, strange, and even closer to fiction, but their impact on the ground allowed Cristina Morató to dust off their real contributions to the mapping of the world when the world was without borders and to the writing of social and political history… for the peoples of their countries and the countries that welcomed them.
