It argues that while external threats from regional rivals and Western sanctions incentivize Iran's pursuit of nuclear capabilities, internal factional politics significantly shape policy outcomes. The study explores how hardline factions advocate for aggressive nuclear postures in response to perceived threats, while moderate elements may favor diplomatic engagement. By analyzing Iran's historical context, ideological motivations, and strategic behavior, the article provides a comprehensive understanding of the implications of Iran's nuclear development for regional and global security.
