|a عرف علم النفس بأنه العلم الذي يهتم بدراسة العمليات العقلية أثناء استعمال الإنسان للغة فهماً وإنتاجاً، وعليه فإن السلوك اللغوي هو نتاج عمليات عقلية ونفسية مثل: عملية اكتساب اللغة والفهم والإدراك والتذكر والاسترجاع، وغيرها من العلميات التي تتم في الدماغ وفق نظام دقيق يتم عن طريقه إنتاج اللغة وفهمها. لذلك فاللغة ترتبط بالنفس وتعبر عنها، وينبغي دراستها على أساس هدف التواصل وليس على أساس البنية والشكل فقط. أن العمليات العقلية المرتبطة بالجانبين اللغوي والنفسي، هي أبعاد وامتدادات نفسية لغوية تتأثر باللغة وتؤثر في تشكيل لغة خطاب الحياة اليومية.
|b Psychology is the science concerned with studies of mental processes during a person's use of language for understanding and production. Accordingly, linguistic behavior is the product of cognitive and psychological processes such as language acquisition, understanding, perception, remembering, retrieval, and other processes that take place in the brain according to a precise system through which language is produced and understood. Therefore, language is related to the self and expresses it, and it should be studied based on structure form only. The mental processes related to the linguistic and psychological aspects are psycholinguistic dimensions and extensions that are affected by language and influence the formation of daily life discourse.
