المستخلص: The aim of this study is to elucidate the concept of "Ila" as expounded by jurists, including its conditions and terminologies. Additionally, the study seeks to highlight the leniency of Islam in granting husbands the opportunity to temporarily separate from their wives through the practice of "Ila," as an alternative to divorce, providing them with a means of emotional release and respite. It should be noted that "Ila," even if it extends to its maximum duration of four months, does not constitute divorce, and after this period, the husband must either divorce or be compelled to do so. "Ila" can be a consequence of a wife's actions that have angered her husband, or it can be an act of mercy towards her and her infant.
