المستخلص: اهتم النقد الحديث بدراسة العتبات بوصفها؛ إشارات سيميولوجية يضعها المؤلف لتستنهض فضول القارئ، ونصا مصاحبا للنص الإبداعي له وظيفة فاعلة في فتح مغاليق النص، وفهم غوامضه، وتحليل فضائه، والوقوف على مرجعياته وجماليات تشكيله. فالعتبات بكافة أنواعها - بداية من العنوان، والمؤشر التجنيسي، والإهداء، وانتهاء بالخاتمة والهوامش - من أهم العناصر التي يتألف منها النص، والتي تساعد المتلقي على الولوج الصحيح في عالم النص. ومن هنا أولت الدراسة اهتماما بالعتبات في رواية "الأفق البعيد" لطه وادي؛ لتسلط الضوء على إحدى روايات هذا المبدع لمعرفة فلسفته في اختيار عتباته، والكشف عن إشاراتها السيميائية، والوقوف على العلاقات الجامعة بينها وبين متن النص. اتخذت الدراسة رواية "الأفق البعيد" موضوعاً للبحث لخصوصية هندسة عتباتها، وما تحمله من إشارات دلالية مكثفة، وما تختص به من سمات تجذب الانتباه وتدعو إلى التأمل وإعمال الفكر. اعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج السيميائي في التحليل لكونه منهج يربط بين الإشارات الدالة وبين مرجعياتها في الإطار الثقافي العام. وقد كشفت دراسة العتبات في رواية "الأفق البعيد" عن استراتيجية المؤلف في الكتابة؛ إذ كان العنوان محملاً بإشارات دلالية للانتظار والتطلع نحو المستقبل، ومعبرا عن رؤية المؤلف الذي يستشرف ملامح أفق بعيد للوطن العربي. كذلك كان للغلاف بوجهيه الأمامي والخلفي دور في فهم النص، وتحديد جنسه الأدبي، والتمهيد له، والإشارة إلى الفكرة التي تتمحور حولها الرواية. ولم يشكل العنوان أو الغلاف وحدهما الدلالة الإيحائية المكثفة في الرواية، بل كان للإهداء، والعتبات الداخلية دور في تأويل النص وبيان دلالاته المختلفة.

Modern criticism focused mainly on the research of thresholds that given by the author as semiological signs in order to arise the reader's curiosity. Thresholds can be given by the author as an additional text that accompanying his main seminal text that has an effective function in uncovering, understanding, analyzing the beyond meanings of the text, and finally to determine the references and the aesthetics of its structure. Starting from the title, the naturalistic signs, the dedication, and ending with the conclusion and the margins, all types of thresholds are key elements that constitute the literal text, which helps the recipient to have a correct access to the text world. The research therefore has paid attention to the thresholds in the novel "Al'ufuqu Albaeid" by Taha Wadi to shed light on one of the novels of this creative author to examine his philosophy in choosing the novel thresholds, to reveal its semiotic signs, and to determine the cross relations between it and the body of the text. The novel "Al'ufuqu Albaeid" is the subject of research due to the specificity of its thresholds, the intense semiotic signs given in the text, and its special features that attract the attention of the reader, call for reflection and provoke thinking. The research has relied on the semiotic method in analysis. Such method links the indicative signs and their references in a general cultural framework. An examination of the thresholds in "Al'ufuqu Albaeid" revealed the author's writing strategy. The title has semiotic signs of waiting and looking towards the future, which expresses the vision of the author who outlooks the features of the distant horizon of the Arab nation. The front and backside cover pages also have played a role in understanding the text, determining its literary genre, introducing it, and indicating the main theme around which the novel is built. Not only the cover of the novel that constitutes the intense suggestive significance in the novel, but rather the dedication and internal thresholds has played a significance role in the interpretation of the text and its various connotations.
