المستخلص: شكلت النظريات الاتصالية علم الاتصال، وجربت في المجتمعات التي تبنتها وحاولت تطبيقها نظرا لأهميتها، وعدم قدرتنا التعامل مع وسائل الاتصال الجماهيرية بدون فهمها والنماذج التي تنظم عمل هذه الوسائل وتحدد طرق التعامل معها وكيفية الاستفادة السليمة منها وتوظيفها في تطوير وتنوير المجتمعات التي يمثل فيها الشباب الجامعي مستقبل الأوطان وركيزته الأولى كأحد أهم الكوادر المؤهلة لاستكمال بناء المجتمع. وقد ساهم الطابع الاحتكاري لوظيفة المرسل في الإعلام التقليدي، في تأكيد هذه الأحادية، وفشل النظرية السلطوية المحتكرة لوسائل التعبير في المجتمع، والمطالبة بإشراك الإعلام الجديد كسلطة جديدة غير محتكرة متاحة للجميع، وذلك عبر وسائل الإعلام الجديد، لذلك تضمن هذا البحث رؤية تحليلية لنظريات الإعلام الجديد والمشاركة السياسية للشباب الجامعي، وذلك بهدف رصد المداخل النظرية المفسرة للإعلام الجديد، ورصد طبيعة العلاقة بين المداخل النظرية وبين المشاركة السياسية، ورصد وظائف الإعلام الجديد في المشاركة السياسية، ورصد الدور السياسي للإعلام الجديد، وتحليل دور الإعلام الجديد في المشاركة السياسية للشباب الجامعي.

Communication science was formulated by communication theories, these were tested in the societies which adopted and tried to apply them due to their importance and due to our inability to deal with mass communication means without understanding them and the models that regulate the work and determine the methods of dealing with such means, as well as their proper use and employment in developing and enlightening societies in which university youth represent the future of nations and its first pillar as one of the most important qualified cadres which contribute to society building. The monopolistic nature of the mission of the sender in the traditional media has contributed to confirming this unilateralism, and the failure of the authoritarian theory, which monopolizes the means of expression in society, and the demand for the involvement of the new media as a new, non-monopoly authority available to everyone, through the new media. Therefore, this research includes an analytical vision of the theories of the new media, and the political participation of university youth, with the aim of monitoring; the theoretical approaches explaining new media, the nature of the relationship between theoretical approaches and political participation, the functions of new media in political participation, the political role of new media, and analyzing the role of new media in the political participation of university youth.
